Oprah hosted a spectacular event called "A Bridge To Now" to honor African-American women who have paved the way for her to become the powerhouse she is today. She and celebrity event planner, Colin Cowie, spent a year planning the Legends ball., and we felt blessed to be present at this unprecedented event.

The weekend began on a Friday with a brunch at her home for just the ladies, the legendary women whose steps created a journey of no boundaries for this generation. And the young'uns who reaped the benefits of their struggles. The day was filled with joy, a lot of laughter, words that brought tears to your eyes, and endless hugs.

Saturday's festivities included a black-and-white ball at the fabulous Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, California. Hundreds of guests arrived to toast to the women of honor. The night was filled with tributes, a lot of dancing and not to mention some fabulous singing!

Bringing us to Sunday, the heart-bursting gospel brunch. Gladys Knight, Bebe Winans, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, to name a few, brought down the house with a verse of "Changed". It was like Heaven in Oprah's back yard.
